Community Supported Agriculture

Herbs, Flowers & Plants

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is a way to bring fresh produce to your farm to your table each week.  You pledge your support to a farm by purchasing a CSA for the season, and they pledge to provide you fresh food weekly.  By purchasing from a farmer, you become part of their community by sharing in the risks and benefits of local food.

What do I get?

You receive a weekly box of fresh food for 18-20 weeks during June – October.  Small shares typically feed 2-3 people while large shares can feed a family of 4 or more.  What is included in your CSA varies by what you choose but can include vegetables and greens with the option to add extras like eggs and honey.  You could also add meat products, or just get a meat CSA.

What is the cost?

Depending on the size and type, CSA’s can range from $350-$700 for teh summer. If you aren’t able to pay for the up-front cost all at once, many farms accept payment plans and offer work-for-trade options.  You can pay with your SNAP benefits by using your card in exchange for tokens when buying at a participating farmers’ market in Bend, Redmond and Madras.

The following farms and ranches offer CSA’s.
