HDFFA is proud to support family farms and local businesses through our annual Food & Farm Directory and events like our Farmer Chef Mixers and Local Food Challenge.  We believe that fresh food should be accessible for everyone which is why we have a fresh food donation program and empower families to stretch their food budgets through cooking and gardening classes and nutrition wellness opportunities.

Our Mission

To support Central Oregon’s food system by fostering relationships between producers and consumers, increasing awareness of and access to food from our region, and cultivating community participation with local food.

A Food System

Essential to our mission is to support a sustainable community food system, which is a collaborative network of farms, ranches, community members and organizations that partner to create a more locally based, self-reliant food economy.  This includes integrating food production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste management in order to enhance our environment, economic and social health of Central Oregon.

To build a food system, HDFFA:

  • Supports family farms and ranches
  • Enhances direct links between farmers and consumers
  • Improves access by all community members to an fresh healthy food
  • Educates individuals and families to improve their health
